This online form needs to be filled with your accurate biographical information and details about your business trip to the United States.

Pay the B1 Visa Fee

You need to pay the visa fee for a B1 visa, you can check the amount on the official website. 

Schedule a Visa Interview

After the fee is paid and the application is submitted you will have to attend the visa interview. Most of the time applicants between the ages 14 to 79 must attend the visa interview at the United States embassy or consulate.

Prepare Required Documents

  • Valid passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay)
  • DS-160 confirmation page
  • B1 visa fee payment receipt
  • Interview confirmation letter
  • A letter explaining your business purpose in the U.S.
  • Proof of financial support (bank statements)
  • Documentation of ties to your home country (employment letter, property deed)
  • Passport-sized photo meeting specific requirements

Attend the Interview

After the interview appointment has been made, attend the interview and answer the asked questions with confidence. They will most probably ask you about your background, business and travel plan.

Processing Time

The processing time for the United States business visa (B1 Visa) depends on the workload on the embassy or consulate but usually it takes a few weeks or a few months as well. This is why make sure to submit your application way before you plan to go to United States. 

Validity Period

The business visa for United States has the validity of six months.

Extension

The B1 visa is extendable but you will need to demonstrate a legitimate business reason that shows that the reason is genuine and you must stay longer. 

Things to Take Note of:

There are certain things that the applicant must take note of while applying for the United States Business Visa.

  1. B1 visa holders are not allowed to work in United States. This visa is only for conducting business activities and not for work. For work there is another visa with separate requirements etc.
  2. Obtaining a green card while you are visiting on business visa is difficult.
  3. Make sure to have health insurance on your name, the reason is that healthcare in the united states costs much higher than other courtiers.
  4. Dependents are not allowed to travel through B1 visa. If B1 visa holder has any dependent, they must apply for B2 visa and travel on that.
