Do you need a Visa?

You do not require a business visa for Spain for every short business trip. Citizens belonging to the following nations and enter Spain without a visa fee and can stay up to ninety 90 days within six months.

EU member states

EFTA countries

Nationals of 62 visa-exempt countries (check on your web browser)

Residents of any Schengen country with a valid residence permit

Everyone else will likely need a Spanish Business Visa.

The Application Process

there are several steps that you need to take to get a Spanish business visa;

 Location: You need to determine the location where you can apply for the visa. This could be;

Spain embassy in your home country.

Spanish consulate in your home country.

There are some visa application centers in certain countries where you can submit your applications.

An embassy/consulate/VAC in a neighboring country processing Spanish visas for your country’s residents

Before your intended stay, you must submit your application as early as 6 months and no later than 2 weeks before. We would recommend applying for the visa at least 3 weeks before your trip to avoid any delays.

Must complete the visa form for a Spain business visa with accurate information and this information must match all the details that are present in your documents. Print and sign this form yourself.

Required Documents: Collect all necessary documents, including:

Completed application form

Two recent passport-sized photos meeting Spanish visa photo specifications

Valid passport (valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date from Spain)

Copies of passport pages containing information, visa stickers, and stamps

Flight booking confirmation with your name, arrival/departure dates, and destinations

Work certificate stating your position, salary, and start date

Letter of invitation from the Spanish company (written in Spanish) outlining the business relationship, purpose of your trip, and duration of stay

Spain Travel Health Insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000 for medical emergencies throughout Schengen countries

Proof of sufficient funds for your stay:

Bank statements (if staying 10 days or less, show €575; if staying longer, show €71 per day)

Letter of support from someone financing your trip (along with their bank statements)

  • Hotel booking confirmation with your name and stay dates
  • Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc., if applicable)

Additional documents are required by the embassy according to your case. You need to submit all those documents within the given timeframe so the embassy can process your application as quickly as possible.

After the appointment is set, make sure to appear for the interview well-prepared. You will be asked a few questions about your trip. Documents verifications will be done along with your biometrics and facial recognitions. 

Submit the full visa fee.

Wait for the decision to be made by the authorities.

 The validity period of a Spanish business visa is 90 days within the 6-month time frame. which means that you can visit Spain for business purposes up to 90 days but this visa will only stay valid for 6 month period.
