HOW TO APPLY FOR ITALIAN FAMILY VISA-ITALY FAMILY VISA STEPS AND PROCEDURES

This article will help you with Italian Family Visa which is officially known as Italian Family Reunion. 

If you are a non-EU national and you live in Italy, you surely possess a resident permit, which makes you eligible to start the application process for your family visa, Your family must be Non-EU as well. The visa allows your family to live with you in Italy. Also known as Italy Spouse Visa or Family reunification Visa.

This visa is a type of Italian long-stay visa. Also called National or D-Visa. It allows the possessor to stay in Italy for a longer period than three (3) months and reunite with the family in Italy.

After acquiring the family reunion visa you or your family can enter Italy and apply for a resident permit. The permit would ensure that you are living in Italy legally with your family.

The entrance visa is the same name as the Italy family visa. In case the family is not EU national or from Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Lichtenstein, the Italian family visa is a must-have to enter the country. Individuals belonging to non-EU nations who are not bound to have Italy Schengen Visa are also required to apply for long-stay visas.

RELATIONS ALLOWED TO JOIN WITH ITALIAN FAMILY VISA

Following family members are allowed to travel to Italy under an italy family visa;

Spouse

Children under eighteen years of age (18). Children belonging to your Spouse also fall under this jurisdiction, as well as children who are born outside of marriage, but the consent of the other partner is required.

Dependent children over eighteen (18) who have health issues and cannot provide basic needs for themselves also fall under this rule.

Parents who are old, older than sixty-five (65) years old, depend on you, and have no other children to take care of them. 

How to Apply Family Visa for Italy.

APPLICATION METHOD

An application is needed to be submitted from your family member for an Italy Family Visa. This is required to be submitted to the Italian Embassy in your country or consulate. 

It is required to have Null Osta authorization, but before submitting the visa application the authorization is needed to get that will allow you to join them. This is called Nulla Osta and it’s a clearance from the Italian authorities. Allows your family to join you after certain checks and requirements. Italian immigration desk provides Nulla Osta. After the issuance of the Nulla Osta by the immigration department electronically, your family members will apply for the visa through the application process. 

INITIALIZE THE APPLICATION PROCESS

  • There is a month’s validity of Nulla Osta. In their home country, your family is required to apply for an Italian family visa during the period of Nulla Osta. The procedure is mentioned below;
  • Booking a visa appointment in the Italian Embassy or consulate in the home country. 
  • Application form for Italy long stay visa – download it and complete it.
  • Collect all necessary documents.
  • Submit the application in person when the appointment date is set.
  • The Italian visa fee needs to be submitted in time.
  • Attend the visa interview
  • Track the application process
  • Wait for the visa process to finish

REQUIREMENTS

The following are the required documents;

  • Nulla Osta, original and copy
  • Resident permit’s copy or Identity card if you are an Italian national and passport
  • Long stay visa application, completed and signed
  • Passport-sized photographs 35mm x 45mm, no shadows, in the proper light, white background, face must be centered, neutral face expression.
  • The passport must be valid for six months at least and must have two blank pages.
  • A statement stating that you want to have your family here in Italy with you and you meet the requirements set by Italian laws.
  • Proof of relationship with family members
  • Funds and earning proof
  • Visa fee submission and proof
  • Plane ticket proof
  • In the case of parents coming to Italy, a birth certificate is required, proof that parents are dependent on you, and a written statement claiming that.
