The Family Joining Visa is a unique Oman resident permit designed for foreign workers holding top positions in the country, as well as their wives and children under the age of 21. In addition, foreign spouses of Omani citizens are covered, pending Ministry of Interior certification.

Validity Period: The Muscat Family Visa is valid for two years. Valid for two years from the date of issue.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

Expatriate employees meeting the following criteria:

Foreign wives of Omani citizens:

Must possess a marriage certificate that is authenticated and verified by their home country’s embassy office, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Interior’s certificate verifying the marriage.

Required Documents

The application process of family resident visa requires submitting different documents, that include:

Application Form:

You may submit an application for a visa on the official website. The employer or a designated representative can sign it after filling it out on the Royal Oman Police website. For Arab countries, the form must be completed in Arabic; for non-Arab countries, it must be completed in English.

Photographs:

Two Passport Sized Photos (6×4 cm). 

Make sure the expressions stay neutral, the face should cover 60 to 70% of the photograph area, and do not wear caps (if not for religious purposes) or glasses.

Passport:

A passport copy is required that must be valid for at least six months.

Copy of Specimen Signature:

In case you belong to the private sector, a copy of the specimen signature is required on the authorized sheet issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. 

Medical Certificate:

Copy of medical certificate approved by the Ministry of Health. Other medical details will be given by authorities in the embassy in your home country.

Approval from the Ministry of Manpower:

Copy of a form approved by the Ministry of Manpower, indicating the employee’s details (job title, salary) or bank statements showcasing salary transfers for the past six months.

Marriage certificate:

Copy of marriage certificate authenticated by Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For Omani Citizen:

For wives of Omani citizens, a copy of the Ministry of Interior’s approval, the authenticated marriage certificate, and a copy of the valid Omani identity card.

Additional Things to Note:

This list of required documents might change from time to time. Always verify these requirements from the relevant authorities. 

Some documents need to be translated into Arabic and this must be done by the certified translator, not by someone random. 

Application Process
