APPLICATION PROCESS:

  • First, you will need to visit the Bahrain Labor Market Regulatory Authority. You will start an application process by Logging In to their application system. Then you will start the process of applying for a Bahrain Work Permit. 
  • Click on the New Work Permit option and then on New Expatriate Permit. 
  • Choose the type of work visa you want to apply for.
  • Fill in the required fields correctly. The permit period should be equal to the period mentioned in the employment contract provided by your employer.
  • After applying you will be issued an application ID number along with the notification. The notification will remind you that the application is submitted and submit the fee.
  • The fee invoice has a due date, if the dues are not cleared before the date has arrived, the whole application process will be canceled. 
  • Fees need to be paid through credited banks or the EMS system. Expat Management System.
  • The application would be considered complete and sent to the designated office for verification.

  • You will receive the approval of the new work permit if it is approved by the authorities, and the fee needs to be paid by any of the aforementioned systems. 
  • Work permits should be printed right away. As soon as you get the approval, print the Work Permit.
  • If your expatriate employee is currently out of the country, the employer should issue a Residence Permit via Bahrain’s National Portal as soon as the expatriate reaches the country.
  • If your expatriate employee is already in Bahrain, you can print your Residence Permit through the National Portal of the Kingdom of Bahrain or contact 8000 8001.

PASSPORT:

  • The passport should have the same name as mentioned in the application process:
  • At least two blank pages
  • Should be in good condition.
  • Should have all the information including Father or Family name.
  • If the applicant had an older passport, that number should be mentioned in the new passport (for Indian and Pakistani nationals)
  • The passport must be valid for at least 6 months but it should be prioritized and it’s recommended as well that the passport should be valid for at least 2 years.
  • There are different rules and regulations for the private sector. The latest paid electricity bill is also required. If the electricity bill payment does not fall under your responsibilities then you will need to submit other documents. For example, if your owner pays those bills then you will submit lease documents or related etc. The bill should not be older than three months. There should not be any notice like disconnecting on the bill. The address must match with the application.
  • Applicants/employee must submit their ID proof of the nation they are residing in. Like Identity cards or driving licenses etc.
  • The most important of all is the Employment Contract, you cannot apply for a work visa without a job offer and invitation. You must submit the contract.
  • The language of the contract should be Arabic. Must have the commercial registration number and name. The duration of the contract also needs to be mentioned if a one or two-year contract. Employers should sign the contract before sending it to the employer. The stamp of the company CEO should also be visible on the contract.

 MEDICAL, RESIDENTIAL PERMIT & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Another important thing is a medical checkup. 
  • Medical will be done in the home country of an employee by accredited medical centers.
  • The list of accredited medical centers is published on the LMRA website.
  • Medical certificates older than three months would not be entertained.
  • A medical certificate is not required if the employee is residing in Bahrain. 
  • If there is not any accredited medical center available in the home country of an employee then he or she must get the medical done using a Non-Wafid medical form on the website of LMRA and then stamped by any official medical center in their home country. 
  • A resident permit is also needed if the employee is living outside Bahrain.
  • No Objection Certificates NOC are also required from related offices for certain jobs.
  • There is a certain fee for the process that will be mentioned on the LMRA website.
